Beautiful things by Steph from Renovation Bay-Bee

Steph is a blogger at Renovation Bay-Bee, and with 3 children, life is never dull. Then she added in a house renovation, a 1960’s timewarp! She blogs about family life, days out, and all the fun of renovating her home at the same time.

Here Steph from Renovation Bay-Bee answers my questions on her most beautiful things.

The most beautiful day I ever had ……

I know it is probably the typical answer, but the most beautiful day has to be my wedding. It was perfect for us, we wanted to have something different. So we had it in the winter, and held at a old water mill in the New Forest. With a 4pm wedding, it was getting dark, but lit by candle light, with twinkling lights and candles everywhere. My dress was covered in sparkles, and my bridesmaids were in warm wine colour dresses. We could wrap up in fluffy shrugs and had roast beef for dinner. Then knowing I have married my sole mate and the excitement of what life had in store for us.

The most beautiful thing I have ever seen  …

It has to be my children, the first time I saw them. The joy that they had arrived safely, and know a new life starts and the excitement of their future. I would sit there looking at them knowing that I had grown them inside of me, with their squishy skin, their tuffs of hair and tiny tiny fingers and toes.

The most beautiful thing I have ever owned …

As I am writing this, I am looking down and seeing my new puppy, a Goldendoodle called Gus. He is just so beautiful that my heart melts every time I look at him. I have been volunteering with the Hearing Dogs for the Deaf People, and training their puppies for 3 years. The puppy lives with you for around 14 months, but then they go on and change someone’s life. S

o rewarding, but very hard on us as a family to hand back the puppy. So we decided it was time to have our own puppy, one we never had to hand back and we could have all the joy. So now I own him!

The most beautiful song I have ever heard …..

Come What May – From Moulin Rouge Film

I love the film, sucker for a good love story! Come What May has such beautiful lyrics, and they just make me want to sing them to my husband! I don’t put him through that though!

The most beautiful person I know is…..

This is such a hard one for me, as I have so many people I want to say, friends, family members, and my children. I going to choose my husband as the most beautiful person I know. He has a heart of gold and would do anything for his family. He loves us all so much and works so hard to provide for us. I know I am not the easiest person to live with, and pretty feisty but he embraces my weaknesses and strengths!  I know that I could ask for the world and he would try and give me it. So he couldn’t make me any happier.

The most beautiful thing about me is……

I’m rubbish at taking complements let alone giving myself them! So I am being positive….the most beautiful thing about me is that I try to make the people who matter smile, by doing something thoughtful for them. My best friend recently got married, but sadly had recently lost 2 of her Grandparents too. So I wanted to give her something that meant they were close by her, even when they couldn’t be in life. So I arranged for a locket with their pictures in to be attached to her bouquet. So when it got delivered on the morning of the wedding she would see it.

There was tears all around!
