Where to find brilliant garden inspiration

I absolutely adore our garden. It is our space to play, plant grow and relax and it is well used.

It is full of little secret areas, it has a pind and a tree house, a quiet space, a teepee and a vegetable patch. Many hours of love and labour have gone into creating it and we are proud of it and fond of it in equal measure.

On the downside it is rather cluttered and it has been pretty much the same design for several years.

What to do next? The children are growing and we are thinking of moving in the next couplpe of year so I think we need a little more order and planning in our garden space.

I need some design guidance and some inspiration.Where do you look for garden inspiration?

I often look over at Homify They have a huge wealth of images and articles to inspire you for homes and garden.

I love this idea for garden shade.  It’s very grown-up but still casual. This would be perfect for us.

I also like the thought of a garden cabin (our sheds are filled with mainly junk anyway) This would be a lovely space for the childrn as they got older (or a writing den for me!)

A friend of mine who is a design blogger always suggests I pick 5 words that epitomise any space I am trying to re-design. For our garden I think  pretty, relaxing, natural, social and flourishing sum up the look I am after.

In Homify you can build an ideas scrap book of images that you like and add notes too. I think this would be really useful for me moving forward. So often I cannot recall where I have found something that inspired me. So annoying!

I do adore this country look, isnt it gorgeous? We might have to invest in a much bigger home and garden to achieve it though!

Looking at lots of images and reading articles about different styles of gardens really does help inspire me and give me a fresh outlook.

I’d love a bit more outdoor space – our garden is quite small and very boring!

I’m so envious of anyone who has a garden, we just have a small yard which we decked in an attempt to make it look better (which it does but it’s not the same as a lawn)

Oh if there was just one thing I would change about my house, it would be a large garden. It’s fine for us now, but I think I’d love to build an office in it in the future, and I’d love to look over a gorgeous garden as I worked. My 5 words would be colourful, peaceful, movement, inspiring and reflective.

Not much help, but I go to my Mum’s house, they live in the middle of nowhere and have the most gorgeous outside space. I am always jealous when I go there! Good luck! šŸ™‚
