My mum and dad were huge HUGE sticklers for manners and saying thank you was really important to them. A day or two after Christmas we would sit down with a long list and emerge a few hours late with our collection of thank you letters in hand.
I used to be exhausted and despite being grateful of course for the fab pressies I was slightly silently resentful too it had taken SO long to express my gratitude. I try and make it a bit easier for my two. They write a joint card, we use postcards (less space) and I address them for them. We keep it fun and upbeat and think about the people and gifts as we write them. I absolutely want them to say thanks but for them to mean it and enjoy it, not for it to be a chore.
Do your kids send thank you cards?
Here is our finished pile. To me this signals a Christmas finally over and lucky Kids and wonderful family and friends. Back to school and work tomorrow.
