#MyMarathon Walk 3

Many years ago ( and I do mean many) I worked at a summer camp in America called Camp Friendship.

In many, many ways this was truly the time of my life. I have written about why it mattered to me so much here but if you don’t have time to read that then I will put in it a nutshell here. Essentially Camp Friendship taught me a lot about love. It taught me about love in so many different forms, it taught me about loyalty, compassion and empathy and great, great friendship.

I LOVED my 5 years at Camp Friendship and due to the marvel that is Facebook many of the fabulous people that shared those years are still in my life.

Johanna in Ireland and Lisa in Wales are two of my gorgeous camp buddies who I adore and who are still an important part of my life. It has been 20+ years since we last saw each other. Too long.

Yesterday they walked a  mile with me to fundraise for the British Heart Foundation. We walked our miles at the same time in Cardiff, Dublin and Nottingham, how special was that.

Johanna walked with her handsome son Aidan whose daddy Jerome was a beautiful part of our camp life too.  How proud he would be of the two of them and  I know we all thought of the lovely Jerome as we walked.

God bless you Jerome ♥

Thank you gorgeous, funny, warm Johanna
