Proud as a Pumpkin

A fallen leaf is nothing more than summers wave goodbye

Summers end is near and the garden is changing. I keep seeing fallen leaves and brown and oranges are starting to appear. A new phase for the garden is here.

Okay I am going to show off a little here (not that I actually did anything other than water occasional but do I care..nope still proud!)

My garden isn’t looking its best the sweet peas are done and quite a few of our flowers are looking less than blooming and more straggly. Haircuts are needed everywhere.

But in a couple of areas the garden is at its peak…take a look

The sweetcorn tasted amazing and Frankie was just so pleased with it as he had plante it from seed.

I love how bountiful our  garden has been this year, lettuces, radishes  tomatoes, chilli’s and  now sweetcorn and pumpkin. The apples are ripening now too. The only things that didn’t work were the onions and carrots and our potato crop was tiny.  We will work on that next year!

How did your grow your own do ?

That looks like beautiful corn! Our sweet peas are finished too which I’m a bit sad about because I’ve been going in the garden and picking the flowers for the house for weeks! Growing your own food is a great feeling isn’t it?

It’s such a good feeling for all concerned when you grow your own. Kitty doesn’t like beans but she ate a bowl full of the green beans she grew – just because she grew them! It’s the little things, like the look on their face when they see it’s grown, so special x
