Proud

Last week was pretty momentous in the life of my little girl.

On the tuesday Grandpa took off her bike stabilisers. She tried 6 times to cycle her bike,  she couldn’t do it at all, burst into tears and asked to come home.

On the Wednesday I pushed her up and down the garden about 100 times , no joke. Not easy for me as I have some health issues and not easy for her because it was frustrating. But she (and I) dug deep and we tried again and again and again. Then this happened…..

The next day she decided to go again…this time we headed to a big open space. Seemed like she had forgotten what to do and she fell off a good few times. But again she got back up each time and tried again. And look at what she achieved…..

My baby has her wings.

and I am so very PROUD of her, not simply because she learned a new skill but of what I saw in her as she learned.

She showed huge  determination and persistence. She showed a great sense of humour. She was patient with herself and with me when I needed a break. She showed courage, tenacity and a real strength of spirit. She had boundless enthusiasm and stayed positive even when it all looked a bit hopeless. These are all great qualities to have, a huge asset to her life and those whose lives she will touch.

Well done my lovely!

Proud is definitely my word of the week.

This is brilliant! My oldest cracked it last year, and I was so proud of him for his perseverance. And, even better, he was proud of himself. Well done to your daughter x #WotW

Oh that’s amazing. It’s such a wonderful accomplishment and so exciting. I can’t believe you’ve both managed it when you’ve been so poorly. You really are an inspiration.

Amazing! How fabulous that you have that moment on video. I can’t get Roo to even attempt her bike WITH stabilisers, let alone without 🙂
