My vintage snow girl

snow girl, vintage snow

This snow girl belonged to my granny and grandad. She always looked a little too cool for Christmas even back in the seventies when I remember seeing her and a few of her pals each year on the tree in their living room.

Their living room well I remember it. Never changing really through all the years.

A room where grandad always seemed to be sat on the floor by the fire, mug of tea in hand playing cards with us or scrabble or draughts. The room where Granny (who was disabled) lived out her life in a bed in the corner like in Charlie and the chocolate factory. A room I always felt safe and happy and secure in and where I went each day before and after school.

She is the only little snow girl that I have, no idea where the others are or if they survived, but she holds so many precious memories for me.

She is my favourite Christmas decoration.

Little up date on this, my daughter just wanting a peek somehow dropped her and amidst lots of tesr I realised it was okay ..memories live in our hearts not in possessions. Goodbye little snow girl you will live in in my past and in my heart
