I have been reviewing a Lumie Bodyclock Go (RRP £74.95) over this past week and the lovely people at Lumie have also given me one to give away.
Here are my thoughts:
I was pretty excited to try the Lumie Bodyclock. I had heard good things abort dawn simulators and wake up lights and this was my chance to have a go.
Usually I wake up to the harsh shrill of my phone alarm and it rushes my waking up and makes me feel agitated. I was after something gentler and more natural to get me up in the morning,
The Lumie Bodyclock is the original wake-up light and it wakes you gradually with increasing natural light. The reason why this is so effective is that:
This is a signal for your body to ease production of sleep hormones (e.g. melatonin) and increase those that help you get up and go (e.g. cortisol). Wake-up lights help to keep your sleep cycle on track, boosting mood, energy and productivity levels all day.
This light comes with lots of flexibility. You can choose the time of your sunrise or sunset; so 20, 30 or 45-minute sunrise to wake naturally, or 20, 30 or 45-minute sunset to wind down for bed.
There is also choice of five wake-up sounds: dawn chorus, drum beat, Big Ben, beep, wind-chimes as well as a snooze feature.
I used Lumie’s own YouTube video as my guide to setting it up ( I find these SO much easier than written instructions.) The video ‘How to set-up Bodyclock Go’ was both short and clearly presented and I had my light set up in no time.
