A Tour of India

Where do you dream of visiting?

I have often thought that I would love to visit and take a tour around India.

There is something so enchanting about this diverse and ancient country that strongly draws me in.  The idea of planning this myself would be rather overwhelming though so I would look to do an organised tour of India where the itinerary and travelling were pre-arranged.

When it comes to inspiring tours in far-flung places, Jules Verne gives you the chance to explore some of the most incredible destinations on earth. These include tours of India and their guided tours take in all the amazing sights that would most definitely be on my list.

These are the places I would most definitely want to see on a tour of India.

A Tour of India

 What might it include?

The Taj Mahal

Okay,  I know that is such a predictable choice but oh my goodness it looks so spectacular doesn’t it. Described as an ‘epic and emotive example of enduring love’ It was commissioned in 1632 by the  Emperor, Shah Jahan to be a mausoleum for his favourite wife. She died giving birth to their 14th child. It is made of white marble and is considered to be one of the new wonders of the world. How I would love to see it.

Ranthambore National Park

How I would just adore to visit  Ranthambore National Park, and perhaps even see a tiger or leopards living free. It is considered one of the best places in the world to see tigers. There are also monkeys and a wide variety of colourful bord to admire. It sounds amazing.

The bazaars of Old Delhi

I love markets the colours and fragrances and Old Delhi bazaars are meant to be some of the most bustling, vibrant and exciting that there are. What a treat it would be to visit here.

A visit to Jaipur

Jaipur is known as India pink city – because many of its buildings are pink! It is packed with palaces and forts and temples and the spectacular Hawa Mahal which I would love to see, It is a five-storey pyramidal shaped monument with 953 windows – wow!

A visit to Kerala

Kerala was described by National Geographic magazine as one of the ‘ten paradises of the world’ it has everything but is perhaps best known for its beaches, backwaters, lakes, waterfalls, ancient ports and mountains. How I would love to cruise around Kerala it sounds so very beautiful.

So just a little taster of the places I would like to go to in India and the things I would like to do. I would of course also love to visit the Ganges, the Dalai Lama home, the tea plantations and to take a luxury train trip too. Oh, it all looks so magnificent!
