My Ascot Outfit

I last went to Ascot when I was about 12 years old. I remember it vividly . We got the train and it seemed such a very long way from Nottingham. I wore a straw boater, a blue flower prairie skirt and a navy blazer and a sailor top and I think some navy blue pointy shoes. It was hot  and busy there and there were many very well dressed ladies with spectacular hats.

My dad was a racecourse bookie and was working so we spent the day fetching him cups of tea, getting tips and losing our money! People watching and seeing the beautiful horses were the highlights of my day. I would go again most definitely. This time I would be one of the posh grown up ladies.

Maybe next year. (or maybe this year if I can swing it..look I chose the outfit I would wear!)

My top tips for having a great day and feeling good at Royal Ascot
would be ..
1) To make a BIG effort with your dress…. you’ll feel great and not at all out of place
2) Wear shoes you have worn before and know are comfy
3) Never gamble more than you can afford to lose (losing too much money never feels good)
4) Remember it’s the UK and a little umbrella or rain mac in your bag many be an idea
5) Have something to eat before you go..queues can be long and it can be tiring!
If you do go have a great day and if you spot someone all dressed up, grinning madly in nude and orange then maybe I made it after all!

I love that you have fond memories of attending when you were younger. I’m loving the pink jacket the waterfall drape is lovely

So did you spend a lot of time at the racecourse as a kid? Sounds like fun!
I like the jewellery on this post and the pale blue colour on your Family Budgeting post! Well done!
