Beautiful Things by Ellie Aindow

Lovely Ellie  blogs over at The Mummy Diary, she originally setup the blog as a place to anonymously write down her thoughts and feelings after a few traumatic years with post natal depression. It then turned into a document of family life and more recently she ‘came out’ announcing her blog to family and friends and the response has been great. She loves to bake and cook and has a penchant for anything vintage in particular old Pyrex. She has recently been really getting into photography and can often be seen crouched over a cake by the back door, as that’s where the light is best. Ellie also has a brand spanking new blog called Family Style where her stylish outlook on everything  from interiors to fashion, craft to cooking are shared. It is rather lovely !

I have met Ellie a far few times now and I think of her as a very graceful, beautiful, sweet and gentle lady. Over to Ellie…

The most beautiful day I ever had…

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly which day in my life is the most beautiful one especially with two beautiful children and a wedding day, but if I had to choose I would choose the day my daughter was born. Not because I love her more but because that day my family was complete, my son was, and still is besotted by her and her birth healed so many wounds. She came into the world and I have smiled at her every day, her happy and carefree nature simply shines and from that day my life was complete.

The most beautiful thing I have ever seen…

My children of course but that’s too obvious. I think the most beautiful thing I have ever seen is the sun set from the beach, in fact it’s amazing how many people stop and watch this everyday occurrence that would ordinarily go unnoticed, how magical it is to watch the sun as it slowly sinks into the sea. The fact I have watched this with my children and husband makes it all the more beautiful.

The most beautiful thing I have ever owned…

Hmm do I own my children? Other than my children I would say my wedding dress, for one day with the dress, tiara and veil I felt like a princess. If I could get away with wearing a dress like that every day I would, who doesn’t love to swish around.

The most beautiful song I have ever heard…

Eek so many. In fact this is may be the hardest question out of all of them for me, so many songs have different meanings for me. One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard though for the music and its lyrics would have to be Gorecki by Lamb. It’s a beautiful song, the words are perfect, I listened to it a lot before and after my son was born.

The most beautiful person I know is …

I am not sure I can choose just one. To me my children are the most beautiful people I know, inside and out. My daughter loves to cuddle and put her babies to sleep and my son cares for animals, wanting to make sure they are protected and learn about them. They both tell me how nice I look on a daily basis and they always want to help out when they know I am having one of my poorly days.

The most beautiful thing about me…

Not to sound too modest but I think the most beautiful thing about me is my ability to care, care about anyone or anything whether it is an injured bee or a lonely chip on a plate. I go out of my way to help people, to make sure they are ok. Last year I cut my hair off for charity and donated the hair to The Little Princess Trust so that a little girl or boy might have new hair whilst also raising money for Cancer Research.

Thankyou Ellie x

What lovely answers. I particularly like the family being complete bit. I keep hearing about people donating their hair and am thinking about growing mine for the same reason.
