Beautiful Things by Kanchan Char

Kanchan Char and her lovely blog are new to me but we have so much in common it’s quite bizarre, even down to the little suburb we have both lived in.  Her blog is beautiful, thought provoking and charming and her photography makes you look again. I do urge you to take a peek.

Over to the lovely Kanchan to tell you about her most beautiful things.

Kanchan Char

Hi, I’m Kanchan Char, a new blogger who writes at www.intrepidmisadventurer.com. I started blogging after a 5 year hiatus from work so I’m pleased as punch to be back doing something adult (and fun)! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m also an amateur photographer who’s easily pleased with design, culture, funny words & a well brewed cuppa!

My Beautiful things!

The most beautiful day I ever had was when my daughter Rahel was put into my arms! I’d always been quite nonchalant about motherhood until that moment; it changed about every sense perception in me! I realised that I could cross any boundary for her! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The most beautiful thing I have ever seen is a photograph made from scratch! I watched my mother develop negatives in her darkroom as a child and it never ceased to make me gasp in wonder every time an image began to form. Every other ‘magic’ trick just  paled in comparison!

The most beautiful thing I have ever owned is a ring my husband (then boyfriend) bought me when we were dating. He wanted to tell me that he’s engaging me for a “real engagement” as soon as we grew up really- we were only 18! The ring was genuinely hideous and cost 50p. It still lives in all it’s tarnished glory in a lovely velvet box that held my ‘real’ engagement ring!

The most beautiful song I have ever heard is Lady by Kenny Rogers…it’s the song my father serenaded my mother with! Whenever I hear it, I see them dancing in my mind and I tear up with the biggest smile…:)

The most beautiful person I know is someone made up of all the beauty I’ve witnessed in others. My mother’s creativity and kindness, my aunt’s loyalty, my friend’s unflinching presence through good and bad, my children’s laughter and gentle innocence…all rolled into one magnificent person who I’d like to be when I grow up!

The most beautiful thing about me is that I don’t get offended by others easily, I’m really easy going and tend to give most people the benefit of the doubt about ten times before I’m a complete Grinch in their company! J

Thank you Kanchan Char!

This is such a lovely idea for a series. I will definitely join in – but later in the month – June is crazy!

I love your choices Kanchan. I wish I didn’t get offended easily but unfortunately I’m the opposite and wish I had a thicker skin. It’s a really beautiful quality

What a lovely post. I used to watch my father developing photographs in his dark room when I was a child, and I agree, it was a magical experience!
