So lucky to have Maxine Brady share her beautiful things with us today. Maxine is a gorgeous interiors stylist and blogger at We Love Home Her blog is a feast of visual delight and inspiration.
The most beautiful day I ever had ……
Wow! That’s a huge question!! I’ve had so many wonderful adventures and times in my life it is hard to pin it down to just one. I’ve travelled the world solo and sometimes, I find myself staring at a sunset on top of a mountain or a sunset on a a deserted beach and I feel very blessed.
But sometime the simplest times, like hanging out with my little nephews, doing yoga on the beach, cycling along the seafront, walking my dog across the South downs or dancing with my friends at a festival – make me feel wonderful inside and out.
The most beautiful thing I have ever seen …
I think Began in Myanmar is a very special place – think a deserted landscape filled with ruined temples and dusting hazy light. I was enraptured by Varanassi in India too – a crazy place full of life and death and colour, it overwhelmed the senses and blew my mind.
The most beautiful thing I have ever owned …
I don’t put my value on personal possessions (maybe because I travel so much and have moved house so many times I tend to loose things) but I do have some stunning vintage clothes that I adore – like a hand embroidered jacket, a vintage 1940s homemade crepe du Jean dress and a silk cape. Also on my list is my little house which as inspired my blog – welovehome – and if you can call it ‘owning’ (as I think he is my boss) I adore my dog Teddy.
The most beautiful song I have ever heard …..
I have a fave song which changes every week and I play it to death, then move onto the next one. I love Tumbling Dice or Wild Horses by the Stones. Or Cemetry Gates by the Smiths. Anything that you can fling you hands in the air too and you can’t stop dancing.
The most beautiful person I know is…..
I’ve met some wonderful old and young souls. But on the top of my list – is my best friend (she stood by me in the perm years), my lovely kind sister who put up with me when I was a grumpy teenager, my mother (who I get my love of clothes and interiors from) and my dad is my rock. And I have a wonderful group of AMAZING friends who I would give my heart to in an instant.
The most beautiful thing about me is……
Being English this is super hard to say but right now, I’d aim to have an open heart and I put my trust into the kindness of strangers – and that motto for life has served me well over the years. There are some wonderful people out there – you just have to start talking to them, I’ve heard some wonderful stories that way.
