When you move to a new city there can be all sorts of things you need to arrange and sort out.
Let’s take a look at some of the practical things you need to consider.
5 things you should do when you move to a new city
Find a great electrician
If, for example you need to find a level 2 electrician in Sydney you may feel completely confused about where to start loooking. Look for the certification – this would always be my first piece of advice. Level 2 Certified electricians are authorised to work on or near Energy Australia’s and Integral Energy’s network, handling live wires and metering equipment. It is so important that your power is properly set up you really do want to get the best quality of workers and service for your home or business.
I would apply this to plumbers and builders too. Having to have work done over, or dealing with problems arising from poor service is more trouble than it is worth. Get in the right people formt the start
Make your new house a home
Making your new house a home as quickly as possible will really help you settle in. So even if you are living out of boxes for a while, do make your home homely. Simple ways to do this are making sure you have a few photgraphs upon the walls, fresh flowers on the mantelshelf and a bowl filled with fruit and fresh coffee to hand.
Say hi to your neighbours.
They don’t have to become your new best friends but a friendly hello will go a long way to making your neighbours neighbourly. Lookigng out for each others homes, taking in packages and generally being there if you need them are the hallmarks of a good neighbour. Do make a point of saying hi and introudcing yourself.
Redirect your mail
Often forgotten then deeply regretted. Putting a redirect on your mail for a few months will mean important mail will notfgo missing at a time when it is probably really useful!
Explore
Do take some time to explore all your new city has to offer and really get to know it. You may be surprised what you find off the beaten track, Joining a club or two will help you get to know people too and soon help you feel at home.
Getting your move right from the start will make such a difference to how you settle down in your new home. From finding the right workers and service to saying hi to your neighbours the big and the little things count.
5 things you should do when you move to a new city is a collaborative post
I’m agreeing very much about the fact that one should find a professional to do all repairs to defective electrical items. Should not do it by yourself
