Classic Retro British Furniture
Do you have any replica retro style furniture?
I have an Eames style rocker in white in my bedroom that I have to say I absolutely adore and which i got for under £50.
It’s not going to be that easy moving forward though!
Distinctive Chesterfields, a handmade furniture manufacturer based in Yorkshire, have created some wonderful illustrations to celebrate classic retro British furniture designs which have been brought to the forefront in the news recently due to the new copyright legislation.
Under this new law designers’ copyrights on furniture designs will be extended from 25 years to 70 years. This will really impact the selling of replica furniture!
Let me show you my favourite 3.

Oh I do love the look of an old fashioned radio – perfect for picnics too! t wasn’t until 1956 that this ‘Revival’ R66 design came into being so this design will be protected for a little while longer under these new copyright laws.
I have a phone just like this and I do love… I like to curl the wires round my fingers as I took and I like the pings as you dial!
Ah an anglepoise lamp. An absolutely classic British design! Just lovely and so practical too.
Both the lamp and phone are old enough to bypass these new laws which is good news for those of us on more of a budget but who love great British Design and want it in our homes. I do firmly believe though that for the original designers this copyright law is important and protects their original vision for much longer.
You can see all 12 of the illustrations from Distinctive Chesterfields over at Strawberry Squeeze

i think anglepoise lamp so beautiful. I don’t know i can find a lamp like this or not at lamp shops
I am in love with retro furniture and design. Unfortunately we are surrounded by modern furniture. We had a lava lamp. My father use to have an old radio. Miss them, both.
