I have often struggled with eye irritation and just thought I would share some of the tips I have picked up along the way about what causes it and how best to prevent it. 

Eye irritation can be caused by various factors, and preventing it often involves adopting good eye care habits and avoiding potential irritants. Here are some common causes of eye irritation and tips to prevent it:

  1. Dry Eyes:

    • Cause: Insufficient tear production or rapid evaporation of tears.
    • Prevention:
      • Use artificial tears or lubricating eye drops.
      • Blink regularly, especially when working on a computer or reading for an extended period.
      • Maintain a proper level of humidity in indoor environments.

  2. Allergies:

    • Cause: Allergens such as pollen, dust, pet dander, or mold.
    • Prevention:
      • Identify and avoid allergens.
