Free Printable Compliment Cards – a cute and simple RAOK activity for kids
I have some super cute free printable compliment cards for you to download and print off today.

Did you know that feelings can be caught from others just like a cold.
That’s why when we are in a bad mood other people seem really grumpy.. And it’s why when we are in a great mood all warm and smiley and jolly the people around us seem that way too.
The science bit
Brain scientists have found that seeing someone else show an emotion lights up the same areas of the brain as if you had experienced that emotion for yourself.. So this is why being around happy people feels so good.
And what makes people happy?
A 2010 Harvard Business School survey of happiness in 136 countries found that people who were generous were the happiest
So it’s simple hang out with happy people and be generous if you want to feel good.

Haircut 100 (a very old pop band!)
My friend Johanna told me this great story about her children Sinéad, Senan and Aoife
We were in the barber’s at Christmas time, and an elderly gentleman was telling the barber he was having his hair cut for a very special party. He was turning 100, and his family were travelling from all over the world to attend it!
My three kids got whispering, and decided to pay for his hair cut as a birthday gift for him!! I was as chuffed as the man and his daughter were!
And the 3 kids who paid for the haircut? Full of happiness too – making everyone else feel happy filled their own hearts.

I always catch happiness when I give someone a present, or bake someone a brilliant cake and especially when I pay someone a compliment . What about you?

Why give these free printable compliment cards?
Well, kids can feel awkward saying how they feel but actually their little hearts might just be bursting to share their kind thoughts – cards give them an easier way to do this and start their journey to verbal compliments. Maybe they could post one to a teacher, grandparent or a friends or place one on their siblings pillow even or slip one through a neighbours door?
Such a lovely thing to share.
