Todays Chritmas decor offering – A Golden Christmas Table
Hello to all my regular readers and to all those visiting from Well I Guess This Is Growing Up
I am so excited to be taking part in the first #UKHomeBlogHop organised by Kimberly from Swoon Worthy.
There are more than 20 home and interior bloggers involved in the blog hop creating inspired and stylish Christmas posts and linking to each other to present you with a complete feast of ideas.
For my post I wanted to show you my golden Christmas table.
A Golden Christmas Table
I have never been one to worry too much about a theme at Christmas.
We just tend to use the best of what we have, cloth on the table, nicest glasses, any matching plates and really the food and the crackers add the Christmassy theme.
Not much effort at all.
This year I decided I wanted to up my game in terms of Christmas style and I wanted to wow at our Christmas table.
It will just be our kids, my OH and I on Christmas day (and my Aunty Jane unless someone non -veggie invites her!) but I still want to make it special and lovely because they are …and they deserve it.
My children are 9 and 12 so although I wanted the table to be stylish and golden I also wanted it to be colourful, as that’s what they love.
I headed off to TK Maxx in search of inspiration. You can shop TK Maxx online or in-store and I went to the Nottingham store and found so much choice I was there hours! (be warned)
I really did find some beautiful items in store. Let me show you what I got for my golden Christmas table
I just loved these gold glass plates aren’t they gorgeous . They are heavy too and look so much more expensive than their £3.99 price tag.
I also loved the candle, at £5.99 it’s the cheapest champagne we are going to have in our house this Christmas!
The crackers look just the ticket for the golden table setting and I had to pull one to be sure. Fab, silly jokes, hat and a set of teeny tiny screwdrivers which will come in uber handy for the kid’s tamagotchi. A great deal at £9.99.
The lovely tall wine glasses with bands of gold were just £2.99 and the tumblers fro the children £3.99. I think they are just lovely.
The paper plates in their lovely jewel colours were just £1.99 for a set of 8 and how well that wills ave on the washing up. If I had just been having adults at my table I may have stuck to pure gold but the colours seemed just perfect for the kids.
TK Maxx also sell food. Who knew? and the chocolate mendiants were out of this world good. At £7.99 I would say they were worth very penny too! I also purchased a lovely lot of pastry forks for £7.99 which are just so elegant from the Dartington range.
I am delighted with my Christmas table settings from TK Maxx and feel this year, for once, we will have a Christmas table with style.

Wow. So much better! I like this post, everything looks delicious and perfect.
Have a good day.
Wow you found some amazing stuff! I clearly need to get myself to a TK Maxx more often – those gold glass plates are amaaaaazing! It’ll be just the four of us and my husband’s father for the big day – I love a relaxing low-key Christmas. Have a good one!
It’s silver in our house, but I love the pieces you’ve picked up. The plates are just gorgeous and as you say, they look so much more expensive than they actually were. I love TK Maxx for that because you can get so many great items for a fraction of their usual retail price x
I love tkmaxx and homesense for seasonal stuff like this! Happy Christmas!!
That looks gorgeous! We have two TK Maxx’s in Munich, one quite close to my house, and it’s been a life saver at times for this expat! 😀
I am loving the sparkly placements, I’d like to use those any time of the year. Mich x
I just fished a couple items from TKMAXX, all indeed very sparkly, just for the season. And they do have the best (and cheapest) candles so i always stock up when I visit them.
Really like what you’ve done here. Merry Christmas!
@Seasonsincolour
Oh we picked the silver version of those gold glittery plates! I don’t make an effort anything other time with my table, so I love being able to make it look really pretty on Christmas day. You found some lovely pieces
Love how you’ve found all these great things at such a fab price. I need to get to Tkmaxx! It looks great.
