How making lists helps us
Are you a list maker?
I find making lists so very therapeutic they help me make plans, crystalise my dreams and give some focus and direction to my errant thoughts.
About a year ago I started completing a lovely book called My Future Listography. It is a book with prompts for you to make lists of things that you might like to consider for your future. It included ideas such as where you might live, what qualities you might look for in a lover or a friend, even what recipes you might like to try. Some of the lists are deep and encourage you to think, and some are lighter and more frivolous. All of them help give a focus to your life, however, and it was an interesting exercise. I found it really fascinating to look back a year later at the list I had made back then.
I have to say I don’t feel I had made much progress bringing my lists of ideas into being. I think I need to get going again and give it a bit more focus.
