How to Strengthen Your Bond with Your Child? Listen Up

Do you listen well to your child?

This is where most parents often go wrong. Even if it is a super teeny issue at school, always be there for your child when he wants to talk to you about something. Make him feel understood. Listen without judgement or reactions. Just be there. The comfort and support of your presence will strengthen your relationship with him like nothing else.

Remember that when you listen to your little one, you’re actually making him feel valued and important, which will boost his confidence.

Be Respectful

One of the most important things a lot of parents forget when raising their children, that showing children respect and love is as important as expecting them to be disciplined and respectful. If you’re not treating your child right, you can’t expect him to, right? Always speak to your little one in a calm and loving manner, and be generous with the ‘please’ and ‘thank you.’ There’s nothing better than mutual respect and understanding to strengthen a relationship and that is absolutely fundamental to learning how to strengthen your bond with your child

How to Strengthen Your Bond with Your Child? Be their best cheerleader

We always remember how people make us feel don’t we so always try your very best to make your child feel loved and supported and encouraged – even if your heart isn’t 100% behind what they are doing it is still possible ( and really rather important) to be their best cheerleader. Ask them questions, big them up, show up and cheer on. It makes all the difference to resilience to know that you have a loving and supportive team behind you whether you succeed or fail.

it can be so hard not to be a judge and sit with your disapproval and whilst it is important we give our kids sound advice we also need to give them  our unreserved support and they need to see and hear this in action

Making Time is How to Strengthen Your Bond with Your Child

Ah, children need your presence so much more than your presents.

Time is the best gift you could ever give

Last, but definitely not the least, it is incredibly important for you, as a parent, to take out some time for one on one conversations with your child. Even if you have a super busy schedule, make sure you do it. During this time, focus only on your child, and allow him to take the lead, with you following. It is also a great idea to have your meals together every day. It can be another powerful way to stay connected to your little one, and also have the both of you develop healthy eating habits while you’re at it.
