Sesame Seed Brittle
One of the classic and simplest ways to put sesame seeds to use is to transform them into a brittle. It hardly takes 15 minutes to make and can be an amazing healthy snack option for all those who have a sweet tooth.
All you need to do is combine lightly roasted sesame seeds (white) with some ground cardamom powder. In a separate pan, heat a bit of clarified butter, add in crumbled jaggery and cook on low flame until a smooth and even mixture is obtained. Add the sesame seeds mixture into it, give it a nice mix, and pour it into a greased flat plate or use some parchment paper. Cut it into squares, allow it to cool down, and that’s it!
Date & Sesame Energy Balls
Super nutritious and delicious, these energy balls are a must-try if you’re on a healthy eating spree and are still looking for something sweet to keep your taste buds in check. Start by combining de-seeded dates, coconut flakes, a teaspoon of sesame seeds, chopped walnuts, honey and a pinch of salt in a food processor until you get an even mixture. Scoop up a little of this mixture, roll it into a small ball using the palms of your hands, and roll it on a plate filled with toasted sesame seeds until it is fully covered. Pop this into the refrigerator for an hour and you’re done.
Sesame Seed Sauce
Love pasta? Once you give this deliciously creamy sesame seed sauce a try, there’s no going back. You can use it as a dip for your nachos and chips, top it on your pizza and of course, add it to your pasta dishes! Start by soaking 4 tablespoons of sesame seeds in some water, and grinding them into a smooth paste. Mix this together with some olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

- 4 tablespoons of sesame seeds
- olive oil
- garlic powder
To give it a kick of spiciness, you can also add a bit of hot pepper sauce or sambal oelek into it!
Sesame & Banana Bread
Time to take that regular banana bread up a notch guys! While preparing the mix, simply add a teaspoon of mixed black and white sesame seeds. Once done, the bread will turn up looking like a work of art, and taste absolutely divine too!
Super quick and easy to make and utterly nutty and delicious, you just can’t go wrong with sesame cookies. All you need to do is mix butter, oil and honey in a mixing bowl and slowly combine them with eggs, flour, baking powder, sesame seeds and pistachios until they all form a nice, consistent dough.
Drop the dough into small rounds on a baking sheet, pop them in the oven until they’re done, and that’s it!

I prefer to use vegetable oil because it has no taste and it lets the toasted sesame seeds nutty flavour sing through.
