An introduction to Mindfulness
I was recently sent a lovely book which offers an introduction to Mindfulness and I haven’t been able stop playing with it. It’s fun, thoughtful, enlightening and so accessible and I rather love it .
Here and Now is a brand new, interactive, mindfulness book by Fern Taylor.
You use the pages in the book in an engaged way to take part in mindfulness exercises. These can take mere moments and are very straightforward but oh my goodness, what an impact these exercises have.

An introduction to Mindfulness
When you read about mindfulness it can all seem a bit complicated and jargonistic. This book is the opposite..a child could follow the exercises in this book (and benefit from them too) The simplicity is beautiful and appealing in this busy chaotic world. The book is so easy to dip in and out of too. This is how we need mindfulness to be – easy, uncomplicated and accessible (and fun!)
Here are a couple of the exercises I have tried so far and thoroughly enjoyed.
This breath exercise is a lovely way to calm your thoughts and be really present as you breathe in and out as you move your finger around the circles on the page. I found it so relaxing.
An introduction to Mindfulness
This next exercise is about being with your feelings. You can expand each of the emotions by moving your thumb and finger pressed together to expand the circles and give these emotions a chance to be,. Then as you are ready you can close them again. It is so healthy to give space to your feelings, rather than denying or ignoring them.
I have really enjoyed this book so far and it has made me pause, take a breath and just be.
A lovely book to interact with.

A good book and meaning.Thank you!
Looks like a great book. I think being aware of your mind is so important to your overall happiness. I try very hard to keep a calm mind….. some days however I don’t have a calm anything.
