Do your kids send thank you cards? I would love to know.
My mum and dad were huge HUGE sticklers for manners and saying thank you was really important to them.
A day or two after Christmas we would sit down with a long list and emerge a few hours late with our collection of thank you letters in hand.
In fact this has inspired me so much I included this as an activity in my most recent of books Create Your own Kindness
Create your own kindness is an activity wellbeing book for kids age 7-12 and saying thank you and gratitude is a big part of it.
How we write thankyou cards
I used to be exhausted and despite being grateful of course for the fab pressies I was slightly silently resentful too it had taken SO long to express my gratitude.
I try and make it a bit easier for my two. They write a joint card, we use postcards (less space) and I address them for them. We keep it fun and upbeat and think about the people and gifts as we write them.
I absolutely want them to say thanks but for them to mean it and enjoy it, not for it to be a chore.
Do your kids send thank you cards?
Here is our finished pile. To me this signals a Christmas finally over and lucky Kids and wonderful family and friends. Back to school and work tomorrow.
Do your kids send thank you cards?
Do drop me a comment below and let me know if encouraging your kids to send thank you cards is some thing you do and if it matter sot you to receive one. I absolutely LOVE to get a thankyou card especially from people I don’t see very often it gives me that little contact and that gift feedback that I love
I think I was a bit like your mum and dad with my two! Always had a list on the go when opening presents, and made sure the thank you cards were written and posted before going back to school – maybe not so important now in this age of email, but I think you can’t beat a hand-written thank you card (or postcard – yours look fun!) x

Yes my girls send thank you cards….They love writing them x
What a great thing to do, we sent them for birthday presents but not so much for Christmas
Thank you for linking up
Yes, they do! We have only just got back to Bavaria though after Christmas at home so it’s on my never ending list of things to do!! 😀
my kids only send thank you cards to their grandparents, they’re the only ones who’d feel upset if they didn’t get one, for everyone else they just say thanks when they next see them.
Thank you cards aren’t something we’ve ever done, although I love the idea. We prefer to spend time with the people who have gifted us things, and say thank you and have a cuddle! Love the pile of cards though x
Now that you mentioned it, yes I think we need to send some people thank you cards =) #MySundayPhoto
