How to make a flower crown – simple tutorial

Have you wondered how to make a flower crown?  Flower crowns are just the prettiest jewellery and the thriftiest craft!

I wrote a few weeks ago over on my Thrifty Home blog about how we have an abundance of sweet peas and each day we pick them only to replace them again the next day. We have given bunches and bunches away and yet still they come!

I have pressed some and I am intrigued to see what else can be done with them.

Just the same as a daisy chain I made a quick slit in the stem with my thumbnail and kept threading the next flower through. I used a little wire twine to secure the circle.

It only lasted an hour or two but she loved it so…..

I adore to make things from nature and we have so much ‘stuff’ in our lives I do like the fact these crowns last just for a short while. It makes them seem more precious somehow. And I think there is nothing prettier than flowers (well except my daughter.)

We just loved learning How to make a flower crown

People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us. ~Iris Murdoch, A Fairly Honourable Defeat

I can’t wait to make something like this for my little girl when she gets a bit bigger, if I did it now she’d refuse to have it on for more than a nanosecond!
