Simple Spring Flowers
I love flowers dont you? They do not have to be expensive, contrived, formal or complicated. In fact the most beautiful flowers are often just a little posy, carelessly gathered and thrown in a little glass jar, just as children do.
I bought some beautiful freesia this weekend, just a tiny bunch and mixed them with a few sprigs of blossom and a few early spring flowers from our garden.
I put them in a pretty little preserving jar which I wound some strong garden wire around for hanging. I hung one of them in the trees above the rocking chair out in the garden and one on my notice board to make me smile as I blog.
I just think they look so pretty and so simple. And they are such a lovely celebration of Spring.
The glasses i have used are from Ball brand who are the leaders in home preserving. They sell beautiful glass preserving jars in a range of designs and sizes. Although primarily for use in preserving, the jars make beautiful props around the home and would be perfect for summer cocktails, sweetie jars, vases or anything else you come up with.
Love the natural look (i.e. non-formal) of flowers in jars. So much nicer than an overblown bouquet. Just lovely 🙂
How lovely and simple – love that! My mum’s favourite flowers are freesia for their beautiful scent x
Ah, love these and I do exactly the same. Spring flowers are the best x
Very nice! It’s the small things that can really make a difference and nothing beats having flowers in your home.
I love fresh flowers, wish I could surround myself in them every day. This is gorgeous becky!
They look very lovely Becky. I agree that simple flower arrangements are the best. I love them hanging on your pegboard.
