Still full of colour
My garden is just green and brown with the odd red berry and it is starting to look bare. I miss the colours of summer, they pick my spirits up somehow and make me smile.
My mum has a memorial bench on a nearby park and on a sunny day last week I took myself for a visit. I had given myself plenty of time and I sat there with my freezing hands wrapped round a steaming mug of tea feeling a little lost and sad.
The sun however was beaming in the coldness and as I looked up (a good trick if you are feeling down) I saw how very blue the sky was and how the trees danced and twisted beneath it.
When I looked closer I saw the fallen leaves were so colourful too that I bought some home to craft with
And dotted here or there were a few last red geraniums which seemed even more special for their scarcity.
As I returned to my car a spider had spun an amazing web upon my mirror.
It was as if nature was saying to me that its’ brightest flowers may have gone to sleep but look how amazing the world still is. Look how there is still colour and life around. It’s just different now.
Thank you nature for your healing.
What a beautiful spot for a special bench. And a very pretty little leaf lady.
brilliant photos
What a beautiful post both visually and through your words.
Oh this is beautiful Becky, so often I go out on what seem like wet and grey days only to come across special sites.
If you would have told me Id have thought this 10 years ago I would have laughed in disbelief but time and age really is a healer and a comforter, and it’s wonderful that you take the time to stop and see things like this x
Thanks for joining in again – and much love x
