Today – Storage Solutions You Never Knew You Needed
When it comes to keeping things neat and tidy at home, it can be a daily struggle. We all have our different problems with it: whether it’s a lack of space, messy roommates or having little ones seemingly set on self-destruct mode. No matter what we’re dealing with, we wish there was a magic way for the house to clean itself. Well, the following storage solutions could make your life so much easier you might start thinking they’re magical.
Build Up
If you’ve got a particularly clustered living room, you should contemplate the idea of building up. Shelves are vital in terms of making the most of empty wall space – not to mention they save you room on the floor. Plus, if your room is small, by focusing on the vertical it makes the room feel more spacious. If you’re using your shelves as practical storage units in your living room, make sure you organise them in a way that’s pleasing to look at and easy to find what you need – otherwise you’re just building your clutter higher!
Sofa Selection
When you think of storage solutions, you may not immediately think of a sofa as being part of this. However, you’d be surprised by how much of an impact a sofa can have – they are one of the biggest pieces of furniture in your home. Even the arms take up so much room. When buying a sofa try and look for one which is off the ground, allowing you to store things underneath it. This could be a custom made set of drawers to fit the space or some soft storage boxes which could easily slide under.
Pull Out Shoe Rack
A shoe rack is meant to save room in your home, but the stand alone racks end up taking up more room than the shoes themselves. By getting a rack that folds away, you’re both saving yourself space and making sure you shoes are looked after. This can be particularly useful if you have pets.
Tilting Linen Basket
A tilting linen basket is surprisingly effective. You can easily access your bedsheets, towels or laundry and the tilt means saves you space. The basket can fit into small cupboards and or those awkward corners you can never fit anything in. It can save you much more room as it can be easily tucked away somewhere, as opposed to your standard linen basket which – despite your best effort – tends to take up a lot of unnecessary space. Cold rooms
Now the need for cold rooms is obviously not for everyone but if you do any food manufacturing and storing then a cold room is exactly what you need to keep your food at the right temperature. So if you suppluy a deli or a farners market this could be exactly what you need.
No matter the size of your house, keeping it as tidy as possible is always going to be a mission. What are some storage solutions you’ve used in your own home? Please share in the comments below.
