Today Grace is talking about the best products to use during our infamous British summer heatwaves!

Summer has truly arrived in the UK, and with it has brought one of the most intense heatwaves I’ve felt in years. Maybe it’s my ageing body, or maybe it’s that global warming they’ve warned us about, all I know is that I’m struggling in this heat! So with the sun getting ever hotter, I have a few holy grail products to see me through the day.

So which products do I use to survive the British heatwaves?

Body Mist

When it’s scorching outside and all I want to do is bathe in a pool of cool water but can’t, I reach for the next best thing – body mist. A bottle of body mist has got me through some of the stickiest, sweatiest situations. There is honestly no better feeling than coating yourself in a fine mist when your body feels like it is on fire, believe me. For optimum effect I’d recommend keeping the body mist in the fridge so it’s extra cool when you use it, thank me later!

One body mist I absolutely love is the Body Fantasies Pink Grapefruit spray which not only smells unreal but is usually dirt cheap, and at 100ml can safely fit in your airplane carry-on bag too!

Suncream to survive British heatwaves+

If you’re spending any length of time in the sun, you’d be silly not to have some form of sun protection lathered on your skin. It’s a well-established fact that the sun’s rays cause cancer and premature ageing in the skin so it makes sense to protect yourself at much as possible. Even if you’re not planning on lounging about in the sunshine, you should at least look for an SFP moisturiser to slap on as those pesky rays can cause harm in a short amount of time.

I’d recommend the Body Shop Vitamin C Glow-Protect Lotion which is an SPF 30 moisturiser you can easily wear under your regular makeup!

Rich Moisturiser

I don’t know if it’s just me, but when it’s hot my skin dries up like desert sand! To combat this, I always make sure I have a rich moisturiser to hand. While regular moisturisers will do the job, I prefer to go in hard with my moisture-boosting products in the summer as I feel like half of it only sweats away anyway!

My all-time favourite moisturiser is the Clinique Moisture Surge, which is a little pricey I’ll admit, but it’s worth every penny!

Body Scrub

Oh how I love a good exfoliating body scrub in the summer! There is nothing better than jumping into a cool shower after a hot day in the sun, to scrub away all that sweat and caked-on suncream. Giving your skin a good exfoliate is also meant to help with the tanning process if you’re hoping to get that glow in the summer sun!

I’m a big fan of The Scrub Of Your Life by Soap and Glory. It’s affordable, it smells great, and it does exactly what it says on the tin!

So those are the products I cannot live without when the suns out! Thanks so much for reading!

Best wishes,
