The Pros and Cons of Playing Blackjack.

Playing Blackjack Online.

While you can go to your favorite casino to play blackjack, there is something ever so much more appealing about being able to play blackjack online for real money. The internet has taken the world by storm and given us so many more resources when it comes to gambling.

There is so much more that we can do, and we have so many more ways to play now. You can play online, you can play with a live dealer, you can still play in a land-based casino still. You can play however you want.

But, we have to ask, what is the best way to play? Well, many would argue that it is online. Since with online casinos you can play wherever and whenever you want, there are so many security features, and it is super easy, with payments in many ways. However, it is not all sunshine and rainbows, there are good and bad sides to playing blackjack online.

To start, we have to acknowledge that blackjack is not everyone’s game in the first place, and while you can use strategy to lower the house edge, the house does still have an edge. But, with so many more people playing online blackjack now, we need to consider what are the pros and cons of this legendary game being played this way.

The Pros and Cons of Playing Blackjack.

Pros and Cons of playing blackjack online.

There is much to be said for online gambling. Many people prefer it. You can play from home, with no worries about how you are dressed, if you smoke, you can light up a cigarette while you play, you can pour yourself any drink, play in the bath or in the restroom.

But, online blackjack is a bit of a mixed game when it gets compared to playing in a land-based casino. It has pros and cons, and now we will look at them.

Pro- Its faster.

If you do want plenty of action, then online blackjack is definitely the best option. When you play online blackjack, you do not need to wait for the decisions of the other players. You do not have to wait for the dealer to shuffle. There is no waiting, you just get hand after hand, dealt by the computer’s RNG.

If you use a live dealer this is different though, however, most people who play online will play the version that resembles a video game more.

At a full table in a land casino, you will be lucky to see 50 to 60 hands per hour. At an online casino you can get in 200 hands of blackjack per hour!

Cons- Fast means higher loss rate per hour.

Of course, because the game is fast, this does mean that you will lose money faster. The more games you play, the more you are likely to lose. So, your loss rate playing blackjack for an hour online will be higher than playing blackjack in a land-based casino for an hour.

At a live casino your expected loss per hour is $2.50, at an online casino the expected loss is around $10 an hour. If you were to play around $5 per hand.

While at a physical casino you are putting around $250 per hour into action, online it ends up being closer to $1,000.

Pro- Signup bonuses.

We cannot forget about bonuses. This is not something that land-based casinos get to do, but online, oh yes! They give you free money when you first make a deposit. You get rewards and cash back in land casinos, but they do not usually give you stacks of free chips.

These bonuses will match dollar amounts, so you might find a casino that matches your first deposit 100% up to $1,000.

Cons- Wagering requirements for bonuses make getting an edge near impossible.

One of the issues around these bonuses is that they are not all free-reign, they come with strings attached. You need to wager your deposit and bonus a minimum number of times before you can cash out. Also, with wagering requirements, wagers on blackjack typically don’t count toward fulfilling your bonus requirements.

Pro- More favorable rules.

It doesn’t apply to every casino, but you can find casinos that offer the best of all the possible rules for the players. A single-deck blackjack game online is not too hard to find, and it is very beneficial for the player. You will never have to face a 6:5 payout on an online casino for blackjack, either.

Cons- You can’t get an edge with techniques.

While there are many advantages, you cannot use play techniques such as card counting or shuffle tracking. As you are not physically there to see it. These techniques work when you are dealing with a deck where the cards are still out. So, you are only able to use strategy and luck.
