How has your sleep been lately?
Mine hasn’t been so great
Usually, I love bedtime, snuggling up in bed all warm and cosy, letting the cares of the day drift away as I drift off to sleep. Sleep is just wonderful, isn’t it? except when it isn’t.
Oh, the frustration of not being able to get to sleep. There is nothing quite like it. especially when you are tired and careworn and you just want the day to end. It’s also super frustrating

I bet like me you have tried all of these at some time or another. Well, how about trying something new? As we know sleep is crucial to our health and we have to do what we can to get in those sleep hours.

Have you considered CBD for sleep
CBD is a natural compound that is found in the cannabis plant. When extracted from the plant it can be used health benefits including helping you to get s good nights sleep. CBD is short for cannabidiol.
This might make you feel nervous – you probably like me associate cannabis with getting high but CBD is different to the THC compound (which does get you high). CBD is perfectly legal and completely different
There are several different ways in which you can take CBD to help you get some good sleep. These include:
CBD Vape
Vaping CBD takes effect almost instantaneously but will also not last for long. Probably best only if you are used to vaping
CBD Oil
This method involves taken in drops that are held under the tongue. taken this way it enters the bloodstream quickly and lasts for a short while.
CBD Edibles or Capsules
CBD can be eaten! As it goes through the digestion process CBD can take up to 2 hours to work but can last for about 8 hours. You would have to plan ahead if you were going to use it his way

How CBD works
In our bodies, we have a system called the endocannabinoid system – it was only discovered in the 1990’s hence the research and information on it is all pretty new and not quite mainstream yet, . The endocannabinoid system has the responsibility of regulating a number of factors within the body, including:
- Inflammation
- Central nervous system
- Mood
- Digestive System
The endocannabinoid system consists of cannabinoid receptors (known as CB1 and CB2) which interact with endocannabinoids that are produced by the body. CBD can also interact with the cannabinoid receptors boosting endocannabinoid system and optimise its effect.
Who can use CBD sleep aids?
CBD sleep aids are considered to be both safe and non-addictive but it is advised but if you are considering trying CBD it is important that you discuss it first with your GP This advise is especially pertinent if you are taking medication.
It may be a quirky and unusual answer to your sleep issues but it is definitely an interesting one!
