We need to talk about good things

We need to talk about good things and here is why.

I read a post today on a blog that contained 60 tiny love stories., It made me feel happy, energized, warm, delighted, inspired and it restored my faith.

We need to talk about good things

I also watched the news for 10 minutes, it made me sad, scared, worried, anxious and frightened.

quote

Why we need to talk about good things

Yes we should voice our troubles get comfort and support.

Yes we so need to know what is going on in the world too.But we must, must, must shout our joys and the joys of the world too.

This  make hearts soar and keep spirits up and celebrates all that is good and right with life.

Good stories were just meant to be shared and they do such good in the sharing.  Positivity is so contagious and helps us face tough times much more easily if we have a stored bank of positives.  We can’t necessarily make more good things happen but we absolutely can promote those that do to the forefronts of our minds.

Today I could tell you I have horrid toothache and barely slept or i could tell you my hubby took the kids to school for once and I have found a car I want to buy.. I know which makes me feel better about the lack of sleep.

We need to talk about good things

Totally buy into this ideology, it’s all about this for me in 2014. One top tip I recently read is to not project everything into the future… I will become, things will get better… but to be it now… I am good at this, I am succeeding, the world is a good place.

I could not watch the news AT ALL during either pregnancy without ending up in floods of tears. I still tend to avoid it now too. *Buries head in sand*

I was talking about this with a friend recently and the fact that because we are all connected with what is going in with the world, we feel other people’s pain and sadness even when we don’t know them. Centuries ago we only knew about illnesses and deaths of those in our community. Our community is now so wide, it’s hard to not be affected by terrible tragedies throughout the world. It’s tough.
Great post which has got me thinking.

The thing that really annoys me about the news is that they never focus on any positive things. Yes, there are evil, heartbreaking things happening, but there’s also good, positive stuff happening too. I wish there was more balance!

We definitely need to voice our joys more, then we may realise that we have more happy moments than we do bad ones.

I love this and recently saw something on Facebook too, in fact come to think of it I am seeing more and more messages such as these which means there’s an awful lot of people out there thinking the same thing.
It stands to reason that the more we think happy the happier we will be.
Great post and very inspiring as always

    I totally agree with you.

I’ve pretty much given up on watching the news because it used to give me those exact bad feelings. I know that’s not the answer and I really do need to have a handle on what’s happening, but it’s all tragedy and heartbreak. Where’s the good news?

You’re so right. Watching the news makes me want to put my head in the sand, but that’s just not an option, and would be wrong. But to talk about the positives in our lives does at least provide a nice counterbalance

Changing your perspective on life is incredibly hard but being a positive person is so much more enjoyable than being a negative person. There are some terrible things happening in the world right now but I would like the focus to be more on what can be done.

I agree with you. People love negativity and talking about bad things over and over again instead of focusing on the good things in life and things that make them happy x
