Welcome Spring by Giving Your House a Make Over – her is how to do this.
The best way to welcome spring is to give your house a new and fresh look. Why not to start from painting the front of the house with some of the trendiest shades for the upcoming season?
Step 1: Choose your Shade
According to Pantone, there are different hues you can choose to refresh your house, from lilacs as Vibrant Orchid or Violet Tulip to brighter tones as Freesia or Dazzling Blue.
Using paint is a nice simple way to give your house a new look without spending too much. All you need to do is choose the colour you prefer – either a soft shade for a tranquil transition from winter to the warmer season, or a bold one to stand out – and start painting.
Plus, this is the right time of the year to do it because you can take advantage of the nice weather, the paint will dry faster and you won’t be freezing in the process. And the best part is that if you don’t like the result you can always re-do it until you’re fully happy with it. Experiment, be creative.
Step 2: Accenting
You can add touches of colour to the interiors as well, in order to transform the look of your house for spring. Buy a couple of colourful pillows for your sofa, for example, either monochrome or with a floral print on them, they will make you happy.
Try something different mixing patterns and textures, or simply accent a room with a bright hue, keeping the walls and furniture neutral. It is a very elegant idea for your bedroom, for example. Choose an accent colour and isolate it to some details like bedding or curtains, while painting the walls with a neutral shade.
It creates a very nice effect, without requiring too much effort.
If you’re thinking to rearrange your bedroom, you can also use spring as an excuse to buy a new bed and maybe a couple of pieces of furniture as well. You have plenty of options for beds, mattresses, wardrobes and such to choose from, especially with the new season a large range can be found either online or in stores.
Another good idea is to buy new accessories to add here and there in the house, choose coloured vases to put on shelves in the living room for example, a nice new patterned lampshade to accent the guestroom or a new carpet in the living area.
