No garden makeover is complete without the perfect garden furniture set. It is such an easy way to make your garden a sociable place; to eat, drink or chat, gathering family or friends together to really make the most of your space. There is nothing better than hanging out at home but feeling like you are on holiday.
You can spend hours planning and planting and redesigning your garden but a new furniture set is an easy upgrade and instantly changes the whole look of your space.
Choosing the style of garden set that works for you
The style of your set gives a vibe to your garden. Whatever you choose should reflect the look you are going for whether that be country cottage, luxe, modern, classic or traditional.
In my garden I like an Italian courtyard feel lots of red geraniums and blue pots and lots of white – so my garden set would be elegant and classy!
This little bistro set would just be perfect for me.
Think about size and space
I think the key to making a garden set work for you isn’t just to make sure the style is right but also to consider really carefully if the size of the set will work for your space.
You don’t want to to completely dominate your garden and crowd out your lovely planting. Nor do you want a set to look teeny tiny on a huge lawn. Think too about the size of your family or the kind of social gatherings you want.
Your garden needs to work for you practically but look beautiful and proportioned too.
Consider Colour
Pastel sets would work well with the pale pinks and lilacs that dominate my garden but if your flowers are bright it may be too much of a contast and you might want your set to be a dark wood or grey rattan to let your flower colours sing!
Perhaps your garden is a little dull and you’d love some permanent colour? A carefully chosen garden furniture set can be a great way to add in it in!

The seats look super comfy, the table is large and accommodating and being a 6 seater no one has to perch on an upturned bucket! Unless you have a lot of space though this could possibly crowd your garden.
As I mentioned though have a small garden so I would need to be sensible – but isn’t it fabulous!
