We all enjoy a beautiful home and when trying to keep costs down easy, speedy simple DIY projects are the answer to sprucing up your homes on a budget. Who wants complicated and time consuming DIY projects? Not me that’s for sure.
Consequently I have put a little list together of things you can do in your home without fuss and without spending too much in the process.
Consider cobbles
Decorative cobbles are absolutely great to use as a centrepiece on your lawn or to scatter around a pond or water feature. Depending on the style of your garden or theme there are cobbles to match! Decorative Aggregates is the UK’s number 1 supplier of decorative garden stones, gravels, cobbles, pebbles and slate chippings and they offer a offers a range of cobbles including Scottish, beach, rounded, welsh and Mediterranean. We made a tiny secret garden a few years ago with a little seeing area and use d decorative cobbles in the area, to make it off form the lawn and to enhance the area. They looked so beautiful.
Paint an accent wall
Painting an accent wall takes only an hour or tow but can really jazz up a room. My sister turned her cream kitchen into a stunning space by adding a jade coloured wall it c gave it both depth and focus and real character. It’s a quick simple and inexpensive DIY project.
Splash out on a splashback
Peel-and-stick splash back tales are the speediest of DIY solutions if you want to make your kitchen or bathroom a little more bespoke and make an easy refresh.
Upgrade your handles
Upgrading cabinets and doors can be done so simply just by replacing outdated knobs and pulls in your kitchen or bathroom with modern ones. I changed my door handles from boring black to gleaming gold and it was so simple and looked so much better!
Light up your lights
New lampshades or new light switch plates take moments to change but can really make a difference. Boring old plastic looks so unimpressive when you look at the variety of light switch plates available and all you will need is a screwdriver.
Brighten your garden path
Adding solar powered lights to either line your garden path or highlight plants is an elegant touch as well as a really practical addition to your home. They usually only need staking into the ground and letting the sun do it’s job!
Make a seasonal wreath
It doesn’t have to be Christmas, it could be Easter or harvest time – a homemade wreath adorning a door is such a welcoming thing. It is super easy to construct with a simple wicker base woven with flowers and greenery from your garden. I adore making these.
