Today we are going to discuss how to mix prints

Gosh I am not normally very brave when it comes to mixing different prints and patterns in the home are you? I tend to go for block colours and primary colours or  white. I am a creature of havit and non too adventurous I am sad to say. I do look at other peoples exring homes with mixed prints with envy and i think to myself ‘OOh I would like to try that!

The trouble is I would not really be sure where to start.

Mixing prints is a really clever technique though to bring an instant update to your home and create a layered effect that is currently bang on trend. It’s not only on trend in interiors but in the fashion world too.

It may look entirely haphazard and casually random but there are rules to follow too.

This infographic from House of Fraser will tell you all you need to know about how to mix prints

So what do you think about mixing fabrics, are you feeling ambitious.

I would probably start with mixing prints with my bed linen before trying something more substantial such as  wallpapers!

Do you think you would give this a go ?

Love all the stripey inspiration! I really do need to get into gear and start accessorising properly – unfortunately there is always something else that crops up and takes my attention. Some great inspiration thank you! Sim x
