The 5 benefits of a campervan holiday

Have you ever considered the benefits of a campervan holiday?

It is not a holiday I have yet taken but it is one I think sounds really attractive, so I have been doing a little exploring and some asking around and I have to say it is now looking even more appealing.

The 5 benefits of a campervan holiday

You get a bespoke experience

Over at Goboony you can rent a motorhome easily and cheaply and they have a range of wonderful options for you to choose from depending on your wishes.  They have the cool VW  campervans, they have dog friendly motorhomes even super easy to drive campervans … the choice is yours.  You get to decide how many beds there are too, and it can be as low as 2 or – unbelievably you could even choose one that sleeps up to 7. That’s some big motor home, right?

There’s no one size fits all when it comes to the right drive or accommodation, so having so many options really does mean your campervan holiday will be a personalised experience.

The reason you have SO much choice with Goboony is because they have the largest fleet in the UK and in fact you get to choose from over 2000 campervans. These campervans are mostly hired out by private individuals across the UK and Europe, so it is pretty easy to find one local to you or near where you want to travel to. You can even go for viewings and take test drives to decide if your choice really does work for you. Over 159,250 people have used this service so it’s VERY well established.

You get to really see the sights

Rather than being stuck in one place in your vacation with a campervan you get to travel around, and this makes for a varied and interesting holiday.  If you go to Scotland for example, traveling around seeing all the beautiful lochs in a campervan is a great way to do it, you have your bed for the night and travel already at your disposal so expensive and awkward, time-consuming arrangements need to be made. You just go where you fancy with everything to hand.

If you go to Europe a campervan is a great way to really see a country and know that every night your accommodation is up to scratch and already paid for and that you can go exactly where you want to go without depending on public transport.

Flexibility

Sometimes when you are travelling around you might find a place you adore and with a campervan you can choose to stay as long as you like. In other scenarios adverse weather or overcrowding may make you want to move quickly on from a place you may have thought you would enjoy. When accommodation and transport are completely under your control then YOU can make these decisions rather than having to stick with pre-made plans that no longer work for you.

Self catering

I love the fact that many campervans come with a little kitchen. In my family we have a vegan and 3 vegetarians and finding a restaurant to suit us on our travels can be really tiresome and not always possible. being able to cook for ourselves would not only save a small fortune but also be very convenient.

We also are very early risers so having our own tiny kitchen would mean there would be no waiting around for breakfast each morning – we could absolutely eat whenever we wished too.

I can just imagine the pleasure of exploring local markets and bringing food back to cook rather than relying on limited restaurant choices. Just wonderful.

Family Time

One of the main benefits of a campervan holiday has to be family time. Living together in a small space, playing cards, coking together and chatting late into the night. Just like staying in a caravn but on wheels. These kinds of holidays are excellent for family bonding and reconnection, and they are the kinds of holidays that make memories that last for ever.

I do also think though that they make a great getaway for a group of friends or even  honeymooners!

Over to you

Can you think of any benefits of campervan holidays to add to my list? Have you ever been on one? Or do you own one. Do drop me a comment I would love to hear about your experience of this unusual but rather fabulous way of vacationing.
