Plants

A classic housewarming gift, a plant will bring life and colour to a new home and help brighten the space. Plants are ideal gifts for everyone, no matter whether they’re naturally green-fingered or they’ve never had an indoor plant before.

Choose something which looks aesthetically pleasing but is easy to take care of, as you don’t want your gift to become a high-maintenance burden! Succulents, cacti, and lavender are all inexpensive plants which have an eye-catching look and require little attention to keep them flourishing.

Candles

Candles make lovely housewarming gifts and help create a warm, ambient home. With a wide range of styles and colours to choose from, you’re sure to find a candle to suit the host’s unique taste. Scented candles are especially popular for new homes and with a variety of scents available, it’s easy to find one they’ll love.

Consider choosing a scented candle which complements the current season. Warm and spicy scents like pumpkin spice or cinnamon are perfect for autumn and winter, while something fresh and fruity like lemon or rose are ideal for spring and summer.

Drinks

The traditional gift for any celebration, you really can’t go wrong with a nice bottle of something when visiting a friend in their new home. Whether your host is a fan of wine, gin, vodka, (or even all three!) an alcoholic gift will always be appreciated, particularly after a stressful moving day!

If your host is a beer lover, why not opt for a beer related gift? Don’t just pop to Tesco for a six pack though – there are plenty of tasty craft beers available for sale online. If you’re feeling generous, you may even want to grab some funky pint glasses too!
