The Most Wearable Spring 2015 Trends

Winter is still biting at our fingers and toes, meaning we’re all bundled up with coats and scarves. Although thankfully, Spring is just around the corner! The season brings blooming flowers and the promise of warmer temperatures, but most importantly, the chance to expand our wardrobes with new fashion pieces.

Stores have had their sales to get rid of winter stock and are starting to display latest spring trends. But before you hit the high street, find out how to wear the season’s biggest trends.

Sheer Opulence

Forget skirts with thigh high splits, sheer fabric is the way to show skin this season. While sheer is a great look any season, designers have taken it up a notch for Spring with floor length maxi dresses and strategically placed panels.

Layer a sheer top over a cropped vest and tuck into a skirt, wear a slip under a sheer dress, or choose a romantic sheer blouse and wear with your favourite jeans for a quick wardrobe update.

Go for Gingham

Winter was all about tartan but spring will be all about gingham. One bold statement has taken the place of another, with the key difference being colour. Move over dark winter tones and welcome bright spring hues.

Wear coordinates in pastel tones (blue, pink and pale green are trend favourites), choose a monochrome gingham shirt, or if you’d prefer to add subtle touches, accessorise with a pair of gingham heels.

Flirt with Florals

Floral is far from being a new trend, but patterns have been revamped for spring. This season, florals have moved away from delicate vintage patterns, to big, bold prints. Colour clashing goes hand in hand with this trend, too.

For the brave and fashion conscious individual, choose a top and bottoms in clashing floral prints.

Add Fringe

The seventies are back, baby! Boho chic is big for spring and the main feature of the trend is fringing. The catwalks were filled with fringed leather shorts, playsuits and skirts.

If you’re brave, buy an all over fringe embellished jacket, or embrace the trend and update your existing clothes by sewing a line of fringing along hem lines. Alternatively, buy a fringed leather bag to easily incorporate this look into your wardrobe.

Monochrome

Black and white is set to be huge this spring! Monochrome is officially back and it’s bringing bolder and more stylish fashion choices than ever before.

Go all out and choose a black and white dress, or recycle your clothes from last spring and summer. Wear a white blouse with a black jeans, or opt for a white belt and bag to instantly update your LBD.

There you have spring’s biggest trends and how to wear them. In the mean time, layer up with luxurious knitwear and keep warm!
