Oh, Christmas is coming and I know it can be a chore and half finding the perfect present. I am a huge fan of all things home and design as regular readers will know so actually, for me, it has been a complete pleasure to put together a gift list of ideas relating to this area.  Do you buy gifts for a home and interiors lover? Art can be so personal can’t it that I think a lot of people shy away from buying it. Precisely because it is so very personal I think it makes a truly lovely and heartfelt gift that shows you have really considered the recipient.

These 2 framed prints are from arthaus and I have chosen the typewriter print specifically for my avid writing lover daughter to hang above her desk.

 

 

 

 

The Cambridge print is for my dear, cycling loving friend who lives in… yep, you guessed it.

Vases

This trio of white wide based vases is just so lovely. Can anyone ever have enough cushions? I really don’t think so. This unusual arrow cushion has stolen my heart this Christmas I think it looks fun and comfy and uber cool! Planters

Black Dog Pottery is a wonderful Etsy store of homemade pottery by Lindy.  It is quirky and cute and eeks of charm. Do pop over and have a look at her wares they make the most awesome gifts. This is Fernando – I think he would make any plant or home lover happy for Christmas!

 

 

Glasses

I have long been a fan of Dartington Crystal, their glassware is always top quality and beautifully made. These dimple old fashioned whisky glasses (so aptly named!) are lovely and heavy and these beautiful crystal glasses are also engravable for a really personal gift. Aren’t they beautiful? I love crystal glasses and these would last and last.  They are handmade here in the UK and just shine with good quality. What a lovely gift,

 

Books

A book for colour lovers

Love colour came out earlier this year and is a lovely book idea for an interiors lover.  You can see my review of this lovely book here but basically, it is an education and a celebration of using colour in your interiors and comes with a wonderfully useful colour chart too. Lanterns

What about a handmade lantern form  Made on a Hill who sell their own beautiful handcrafted goods just perfect for that elusive, bespoke Christmas gift. Their wares range from pendants made of wood to handcrafted lanterns. Just so lovely – I would be so delighted to receive this star and bell lantern for Christmas. Isn’t it a beauty! What a lovely glow for a winter home.

 

 

 

 

A few minutes of design

A few minutes of design is a pack of 52 activity cards to spark creative thinking based around design concepts and creative thinking exercises, these are absolutely fascinating and make such a good gift for a design lover. There are drawing exercises thinking exercises, communication exercises and even product linking exercise. Fabulous and thought-provoking fun and brilliant for those with a creative flair! This is a perfect stocking stuffer.
