Guide for your New Years Eve in London

If you are time short on your visit you are going to want a great itinerary worked out and to have got your travel sorted.

This is where I have done the research so you don’t have to.

Take a cruise

You could take a city cruise on a boat down the Thames. Always an absolutely thing to do as the iconic buildings of the UK capital make the best viewing. You would be perfectly placed to see the fireworks too – but wrap up toasty warm if you decide to do this! Don’t forget take your camera as lots of buildings get lit up New Years Eve

Go to Covent Garden

Covent Garden is not only a fabulous market with flowers and gifts galore. It also has the best FREE entertainment which you can sit and watch for hours. the street performers at Covent Garden are world class. A treat not to be missed but be careful they can rope you in to get involved.

Afternoon tea in London

Afternoon tea in London is something quintessentially English and very special. I have had afternoon tea at The Ritz, at the Dorchester and at Park Lane Hotel and they were all glorious. My favourite place for tea though is to take our own picnic to Kensington Palace gardens and sit beneath the Peter Pan statue. A bit too chilly to do this on New Year Eve though!

The Royal Observatory

You can find the royal observatory in  Greenwich. It is the home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), the Prime Meridian of the world and London’s Planetarium. An exciting and interesting place to visit like no other.

Hampton Court

My favourite London palace requires a bit of a drive down to Richmond but is totally worth it. A gorgeous way to take in Royal London Culture on a New Years Eve. This year they have both an ice rink and a lights trail for you to explore.

Traditional and beautiful and open all year round.

London has so much to  offer a visitor at any time of the year but New Years Eve in London is a bit special.

Trying to avoid public transports or don’t have a car to move around ? I recommend you to try Ubeeqo. You are able to hire car by the hour or by the day in more than 100 stations in London. It is a really novel idea and one that gives you great freedom to get about. All you have to do is to register and book with the app then use your phone to unlock the car and start your journey.

It is great value – just around £18 for 3 hours and such an efficient and hassle free way to get about.

I do hope you have enjoyed this guide to New Years Eve in London.
