Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and I have been wondering about how to make it really special.
Oh, how I adore Valentine’s day. Do you?
I always go to town on it, making a special meal, crafting a homemade card and filling our home with flowers.
For me, Valentine’s day is something to celebrate. Love is something to celebrate. I know Valentine’s day sometimes gets a bad rap for being overly commercialised and cheesy – but it really does not have to be.
Making Valentine’s day a special day
My plans for this year’s Valentine’s day include getting up early to make my other half a full English veggie breakfast – something he loves. Then I will share gifts with him and with my children (they need to know I love them too!) and who knows if a card may have mysteriously landed on the mat for each of them.
I am saying nothing.
In the evening there will be a candlelit meal and possibly a romantic movie too. And if it snows we will definitely head out for an evening stroll – what could be more romantic?
Special Valentines gifts
I do like to put some thought and care into my Valentine’s gifts rather than just be giving aftershave or a box of chocolates (however I have to admit I am always delighted with a box of chocolates though – just in case any potential chocolate giving admirer is reading this.
